Designing a space with an instrument in mind, the interior designer found a way to accomplish a wonderful living arrangement incorporating a piano in this modest Three-Bedroom Condominium Unit.
Making a piano the centerpiece of an interior this scale truly makes for a challenging space planning! The owner’s love for music is palpable upon entry into this tastefully designed interior. The dining area was moved to the balcony to accommodate the piano and other instruments while the living area is decorated moderately so as not to overwhelm the space and retract the focus from its centerpiece – the piano.
This modern interior’s aesthetic also lies in the utilization of the contrasting colours of blue and yellow in jewel tones. Balancing the overall palette of royal blue and brass, the look is brought together by a white backdrop of walls and is defined by the pitch black colours used on the recessed ceiling feature and framing of the sliding door, windows and furniture.
This also echoes the colour of the piano which anchors the whole space together. White marble and herringbone patterned furniture spread throughout the living and dining area also makes for a classic combination that doesn’t go out of style.
The palette continues to the Master Bedroom and is well-used in the Nursery Room in subdued hues of blue. Adding a fun element into the nursery is a painterly motif wallpaper and round animal-themed rug.
